FAQ

Frequently Asked Question

MySoilDashboard

1

How long does it take before I see my data in the dashboard?

It takes about two weeks from sampling to full access in your dashboard. That includes sequencing, analysis, and quality control. Faster than most labs you’re used to, and with more transparency.

2

Can I upload my own biological data into the dashboard?

Yes, absolutely. Reach out to your Soilytix contact and we’ll help you get your external data integrated properly.

3

Can I export charts and visual data from the dashboard?

Yes. You can export graphs and visuals directly as CSV, PNG, or PDF—ready for reports or presentations.

4

Do I have access to the raw data?

Yes, your raw data is always available. Just ask your Soilytix contact and we’ll send it to you, or help you access it directly.

5

I have an idea for a new feature. Can I suggest it?

Definitely. We love working with users to improve the platform. Contact your Soilytix representative and we’ll take it from there.

General

1

How do I know your DNA sequencing is accurate?

A great question because not all labs meet the same standard. We’re happy to share a whitepaper that compares our methods to others in the market. Ask your Soilytix representative to receive a copy.

2

From which countries can you receive soil samples?

Globally. Our lab is based in Germany and registered as an official quarantine station, allowing us to import soil from around the world under strict compliance.

3

Can you help with export logistics?

Yes. Within the EU, shipping is straightforward. Outside the EU, we work with trusted logistics partners and can guide you through the process step by step.

4

Is all your analysis done in-house?

Yes. All biological data analysis is handled by our in-house team, from DNA extraction to bioinformatics, including metabarcoding, metagenomics, and qPCR.

5

Do you analyse anything other than soil?

Soil is our focus, but we also have experience working with air and water samples. If you have a specific project, get in touch; we’re happy to help if we can.

MySoilSampling

1

What makes your sampling strategy so effective?

We use NDVI and Bare Soil data to define an optimal sampling strategy that reduces costs while improving data quality. This includes techniques like composite sampling.

2

How do I know exactly where to sample in the field?

Every sampling label includes a QR code. Scan it with your phone and it will guide you to the exact spot, directly in your mobile browser.

3

Is the sampling app easy to use?

Extremely. It’s designed for anyone to use in the field, no training required. Just scan and sample.

4

What extra data do you collect when I sample?

Each sampling event includes more than 10 weather and environmental parameters, such as temperature, rainfall, wind, and humidity, automatically linked to your sample.

5

How should I ship my soil sample to the lab?

We recommend sending your sample as soon as possible, ideally on the same day using overnight express. If shipping takes less than 7 days, store the sample in a fridge at 4°C. If it takes more than 7 days, store it in a freezer at -20°C. Only remove the sample from cold storage right before shipping.
